When one of the top children’s museums in the country outgrew their existing website they turned to Orange Jackalope Creative. Minnesota Children’s Museum is dedicated to sparking children’s learning through play. They have three different physical locations — a museum in Rochester, their main building in St. Paul, and a new pop-up space at the Mall of America. They were introducing a brand new logo and identity system, launching an ongoing initiative to encourage play, and starting a major expansion campaign in St. Paul.
We redesigned a responsive website for them from the ground up, built around the new logo and branding. Multiple organizational websites were consolidated into this new central site and their information architecture was streamlined. New functionality included: a robust back-end solution, calendars and event management, display and curation of crowd-sourced social media content, integration with their existing point of sale system for membership and ticketing, an improved blog and news section, and the ability to make site-wide announcements of schedule changes and closings due to the expansion.
